La Rosa Del Monte, Hoyt Ave. North at 28th St., Astoria, Queens , 1990
For many years this sign for La Rosa Del Monte Movers greeted travellers at the base of the Queens side of the Triborough Bridge going to and from LaGuardia Airport. I last photographed the sign in April 2002 when it had been repainted and allowed to deteriorate considerably (click for image).
La Rosa Del Monte Express have been in business in the Bronx since 1968/70, and as of March 2018 they continue to operate out of their Tiffany St. location near 169th St.
Other La Rosa Del Monte signs are found at 2325 Southern Blvd. between 184th St. and 185th St., Bronx, and 653-657 Crotona Parkway North, Bronx.
La Rosa Del Monte trucks are often found on New York City streets. For example this one from 2010, and this one on my street, 90th St., in 2016!
