Mason Crows

Crows were introduced by Mason, Au & Magenheimer in the 1890's. They were intended to be named "Black Rose", but the printer heard the name wrong, printed wrappers with "Black Crows", so Mason kept the name Crows!

The Black Crows trademark was registered in 1911, with first use in commerce listed as 1890. Tootsie Rolls' current (2002) packaging reads "since 1911."
